Butternut Back In The Bag!!!

Some of y'all may remember my trusty old Discraft Elite X Avenger with the club stamp on it. It was the only one of the bunch that came in that orangey yellowy color I referred to as "Butternut Squash." I lost it 18 months or so ago up at UWF on hole 12.
On Tuesday I get a text from a young UWF student that he had found a yellow Avenger of mine. The only one I could remember losing up there was "Butternut", but I didn't want to get my hopes up. I told him to leave it in a particular place and I'd come up after work and pick it up. I get up there and the disc is not where I asked him to leave it. I call him and he explains that he liked it so much he played another round and kept throwing it, only to re-lose it. I see a young man walking towards me on the phone and realize that it's the guy that found my disc. He apologized and offered to go buy me a new disc. I could see he was sincere and truly troubled that he lost my disc so I told him not to worry about it, although I'm sure my disappointment was quite evident in my demeanor. I didn't dare ask him if it had the club stamp on it. If he had said yes it would just tick me off more. That I had been so close to getting one of my all time favorite discs back in the bag only to have it disappear again. Just heartbreaking, I tell 'ya. Fast forward to yesterday morning. I get another text while I'm at work. The young man had felt so bad about losing my disc that he and his friend went back out and spent a couple hours looking for it, and sure enough, they found it. This time he left it where I asked and I went a grabbed it yesterday after work. So here's to my new friend Brenton. :cheers I think I'll have to order a couple more Elite X Avengers and give him one for his trouble.  -------------------- ECDGC TAG #14
