What a day!

After today's club toss in Brewton, Crispy, MattD, GatorJohn, Mark from Charleston, and I went across the street to the wings restaurant. The food is very good there. Large wings and huge tenders. But the entertainment was even better! Some of it was a blur, so guys, feel free to update/correct me as necessary...

While we were eating, it appeared that someone had spilled a glass across a table on the other side of the restaurant, and everyone at that table jumped up. Well, it was not a spillage, but a country boy fist fight instead! I don't know who threw the first punch, but after a few swings it ended with the smaller guy, maybe 5'8", pinning the much larger guy, maybe 6'2" with a couple spare tires, against the wall. A third guy comes in with a beer bottle and slings it trying to hit the large guy in the head with it, but I think a fourth guy blocked him, so the bottle flew in the air and hit ten feet up the wall. From start to finish, none of them say a word, the only sounds being the sounds of chairs, tables, and bottles being scattered. So about the time the five of us are wondering what we're going to do, another guy steps in, at least 6'2" and solid muscle. He pins one of them against the wall and starts pointing at the others, directing them to sit. About that time we saw the pistol on his belt, and it was large! When the guys wouldn't sit down, HE DREW HIS GUN!!! He didn't have to point it AT anyone, but they all immediately sat quietly in their chairs, almost like scolded schoolchildren. It was all so quiet. Almost surreal. So for the next five minutes or so they all just sat quietly while he stood over them. A waitress came by at one point and rubbed a couple of them on their backs. A few minutes later three of them were taken away peacefully in handcuffs. The waitress told us later that one of them was upset because the other one was looking at his girl (props to Crispy - he called that one). She apologized, but we thanked her for the entertainment.

Phew, what a day.

Hehe, ya that was pretty exciting, especially on my first visit to Brewton.

I too recommend WOW (World of Wings). They had a full bar, good beer selection, and really good food. The home-made salsa was a stand out, as well as the Chix fingers, which were humongous. And, we actually WALKED there from the course.

Not only that, but Brewton's 9 - hole course is really nice. Some unique and interesting shots. And obstacles in the way of some of the tee-pad, if you like that sort of challenge. And a store right across the street that you can walk to for beer, water and snax. Pretty darn convenient if you ask me.

Definatley a good day-trip to hit the course, hit WOW, and hopefully not get hit by one of the locals :}
